Cup Competitions

Following discussions with clubs, the League Cup will now be played on the same day and venue as the Challenge Cup. We intend to hold both matches on the 4th May 2008 at Wadham Lodge, home of Waltham Forest FC. Your support is now needed to ensure that fans turn up. A flyer will be made up in the next few days which you should now try to get distributed as widely as possible. Please make it a day to remember!

Challenge Cup Final

Barking Tigers

v

FC Bulwer

Can this be the year of the Bull with Israr Ahmed returning from Dubai to play in final. This team has a lot of quality about it and for some reason has failed to live up to the expectations. However, they are in the final and may realise their potential with some big game players in Marvin Smith who first came to sight with Asianos and also Luke McKenzie. Barking Tigers found life in the first division harder than they thought but their style of play is really good to watch. The central defensive pairing of Amaal Khan and Randeep Dhesi have kept this team alive. A little man by the name Shahjahan Hussain has a big heart, when he plays the Tigers play. Managed by the Hannan Miah in only his third season has enjoyed relative success and if he can keep this team together they will dominate in the future. Will the experience of FC Bulwer overcome the youth and hunger of Barking Tigers.

League Cup Final

LMCC

v

Forest Gate

With a side mixed with young and old talent this could be the year for Forest Gate FC. Led by the inspirational Asif "Fishy" Shabir who sets the standard for his team. The young guns of Keith Oppong and Umar Farooq who both have an abundance of talent and win games on their own. Another man to watch out for on the day is the legendary Mohindin El Waly who is one of the best players to play in this league. His legs might not carry him like before but he can read a game and split open defences with inch perfect passes. LMCC managed by Anjum Khan can beat anyone on their day with the talent they have. At the back although he has played up front at times this season is last seasons player of the year Hamza the jolly giant. He plays the game with a smile and has probably been LMCC's player of the season. In the middle you have Nabil Butt who keeps niggling away at the opposition and does the hard work for his team mates. In addition to this man is Imran "Bergkamp" Patel and having played with this man you know why they call him him Bergkamp. This promises to be a great final considering the heartache both clubs encountered last season.
